Iarnród Éireann has said it is going to roll out special mobile Go Safe cameras at Farranfore and Minish level crossings.
They are intended to detect speeding and drivers ignoring red lights.
Treasa was joined by Irish Rail’s Barry Kenny, who said they will work with An Garda Síochána to issue automatic fixed charge notices, which will include penalty points and fines.
He said these cameras are additional to the existing cameras which detect other dangerous incidents at crossings.
