Tony Connelly, who’s RTÉ’s Europe Editor, has made a documentary about his grandfather Michael Connelly who was born in 1887. Michael joined the RIC (Royal Irish Constabulary) as a young man and his first posting was in Castlegregory where he met Tony’s grandmother, Norah Flynn. After Ireland was partitioned, they moved north and he served with the Royal Ulster Constabulary,
