Last week, the independent TD launched an attack in the Dáil on Labour after its leader Brendan Howlin put forward a motion calling for a fair start for every child. Michael Healy-Rae accused Labour of being hypocritical because of the cuts made by the last Fine Gael-Labour government. Labour TD Jan O’Sullivan said that the motion had been thwarted by some members of the Dáil who chose to cast personal abuse.
