Garóid Pearse is the great great nephew of Michael Collins and attended the commemoration in Béal na mBláth on Sunday. He speaks to Jerry about the group who booed and jeered during the event and how he tried to engage with them. Garóid’s father Robert, Collins’s great nephew, was unable to attend the event but followed it with great pride and interest. Robert’s mother was 13 when Michael Collins was assassinated.
