Mental Health Services in Kerry: One Family’s Story – October 15th, 2021

Anthony McAuliffe for Tralee is an advocate for his daughter, Aoife, who’s 23-years-old. She has been diagnosed with EUPD, emotionally unstable personality disorder, and has made a number of attempts on her life. Aoife wanted to be seen at St Patrick’s University Hospital in Dublin but the family says she couldn’t be admitted because mental health services in Kerry wouldn’t send a referral letter to St Patrick’s. Since this interview was broadcast, the HSE has been in contact with the McAuliffes regarding a care and treatment plan for Aoife. If you’re affected by any issues raised, the Samaritans may be contacted any time at 116 123.
