Yesterday, Jerry spoke to TD Danny Healy-Rae and road safety campaigner Donna Price about the Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill which passed in the Dáil.
The focus of yesterday’s discussion was the stricter penalties the bill will impose on drink drivers. But another aspect of the bill is that it makes it an offence for car owners to allow a learner to drive their car unaccompanied.
Clare, whose 18-year-old son is a learner driver, believes it’s unfair to those living in rural areas.
