On Friday afternoon, the sub-committee of the Kerry Law Society met with the CEO of the Courts Service to discuss the future for court services in Tralee – namely, whether the 19th century court building in Tralee should be refurbished, which the Courts Service says isn’t feasible, or whether a new courthouse should be built. The frontrunner site is the Island of Geese. However, this was given to the people of Tralee by its former owner, Kerry Group. Many are opposed to the idea of building a court there. Canice Walsh, who’s a member of the sub-committee and who spoke on the show on Friday, gives Jerry an update on their meeting with the Courts Service.
