From robots who serve up ice cream to the participation of some of Ireland’s leading companies, there’s a lot happening at the first engineering symposium hosted by REEdI (Rethinking Engineering Education in Ireland) at MTU Kerry. Today’s symposium has been held at the university’s north campus. There you can meet ENG-G the robot who serves up Muckross Creamery ice cream at Kerry Sports Academy and meet industry leaders. Jerry spoke to Dr Fiona Boyle, programme director of REEdI, student Kate O’Connor, manging director of Avonmore Derry Sheehan, Professor Joseph Walsh, director of the ImaR Research Centre, and Dr Edmond Harty, president of Engineers Ireland.
