Kerry Today: Elections 2024 – June 10th, 2024

On Monday morning Jerry devoted the whole of the show to the results from the local elections in Kerry and an update from the count from Cork for the Ireland South EU Parliament election. As of Monday morning, recounts were due to start for the Tralee and Kenmare Local Electoral Areas. Jerry spoke to Sinn Féin’s Robert Brosnan who was elected to represent the Corca Dhuibhne Local Electoral Area, to Deputy Michael Healy-Rae and to Minister Norma Foley. John Downing of the Irish Independent analysed the national picture. Jerry also spoke to Radio Kerry’s Mark Lynch and Treasa Murphy who had been covering the counts for the Kenmare and Tralee LEAs respectively where recounts were called. Jamie O’Hara, Newstalk’s southern correspondent, spoke to Jerry from the Ireland South count centre in Cork.
