A Kerry-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) is calling on the government to use diplomatic channels to advance the rights of Kurdish people in the Middle East. They are a minority group in the region without their own independent state. South Kerry organisation, Azadi, is submitting an Oireachtas public petition today urging government action.
Co-director and Sneem native Florian Scheibein is of Kurdish descent.
