The experience of home-schooling children during the pandemic seems to have reignited the debate on the value of giving homework to primary school pupils. In the Irish Examiner, child psychotherapist Colman Noctor wrote of how homework was cancelled for a week at his child’s school. Jerry gets the view of Dr Lorraine Harbison who is an associate professor and coordinator of mathematics education in the School of STEM Education, Innovation and Global Studies at DCU. She co-authored the study, 'An Evaluation of the Utility of Homework in Irish Primary School Classrooms.'
