A survey by Barnardos and Aldi found that 29% of parents over the past year, said they had skipped meals or reduced portion sizes so their children would have enough to eat. The research also found that the number of parents using food banks and relying on donations has doubled. Many households are dealing with sustained cost-of-living increases as well as rises in mortgage interest rates.
