Halt to Shannon LNG – May 19th, 2021

The government has announced it will halt plans for liquefied natural gas terminals pending a review of energy security. This halts the Shannon LNG project. Its backers US group Fortress Energy had planning permission to build a terminal on the Tarbert Ballylongford landbank. Fine Gael councillor Jim Finucane who supports the project and Tony Lowes of Friends of the Irish Environment, which opposes the development, speak to Jerry.
