Dr Donal Daly, who is based in Listowel, says he has been informed by Cork University Hospital that it is not currently accepting referrals from Kerry GPs for public patients for DEXA scans.
The scan is used to diagnose osteoporosis. Meanwhile the DEXA scanner at University Hospital Kerry is not being used despite a major fund-raising drive to purchase it.
