Facebook posts have appeared making allegations of attempted dog thefts and claims that criminals are using cable ties to indicate homes where there are dogs.
However, gardaí who monitor social media say in the past number of weeks, they haven’t received any reports of dogs being stolen in Kerry.
Sgt Tim O’Keeffe says they’re also worried that photos are being posted online of innocent people accusing them of wrongdoing. Clearly identifiable vehicles have also been photographed and shared online, linking the cars to alleged dog thefts.
