In February, the Sisters of St Clare, commonly known as the Poor Clares, announced they would be leaving the town after 160 years. Anne Finn was taught by the nuns at primary and secondary level; she was taught by the Poor Clares at primary and secondary level. She went on to teach at Holy Cross College which was run by the nuns. She spoke to Jerry about the Sisters’ legacy. A mass will take place in Holy Cross Church, Kenmare on Sunday at noon in recognition of the order’s contribution.
