Jerry spoke to Paul Langston of Divanes Volkswagen, Castleisland. He says the Government needs to examine its EV scrappage scheme. Under the programme, car buyers could receive an additional €5,000 grant on top of the existing €3,500 grant from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to replace internal combustion engine vehicles at least 13 years old with an EV. The scheme closed within hours such was the demand.
