28-year-old Sean Binder from Castlegregory is on trial in Greece for charges arising out of his search-and-rescue work to help migrants and refugees on the island of Lesbos. Sean was first arrested five years ago. In 2018, he and other humanitarian workers were charged with a range of offences, including spying and illegal access to state communications. He stood trial in Lesbos yesterday morning for the misdemeanour charges which he faces, while a separate investigation into his felony charges may take up to 15 years to be brought to trial in Greece. His case on Tuesday was adjourned until Friday. Jerry spoke to Sean and to his mother Fanny.
