Tomorrow in Tralee Town Park at 3.30pm, Kerry County Council will unveil a commemorative sculpture marking the contribution made by the women of Kerry during the revolutionary period. The 2.5-metre figurative sculpture, titled ‘Spioráid Ban Chiarraí’ which was created by award-winning sculptor Elizabeth O’Kane, will be unveiled by the female elected members of Kerry County Council at Tralee Town Park.
Treasa spoke to historian and lecturer, Dr Mary McAuliffe from Duagh, who was involved in the project.
