Five candidates running in the Castleisland LEA took part in the debate: Deirdre Bell of Sinn Féin, Paul Bowler of the Green Party, Fianna Fáil councillor Fionnán Fitzgerald, independent councillor Jackie Healy-Rae, and Fine Gael councillor Bobby O’Connell. The other candidates running in Castleisland are Cllr Charlie Farrelly who’s an independent, independent Michelle Keane, and Cáit Ní Ríórdáin of Aontú.
