Flash flooding yesterday resulted in a bog slide on the road outside two homes in North Kerry, leaving residents trapped for 19 hours. Theresa Scanlon lives in one house with her partner, while her parents and sister live nearby. The family lives at Maugha near Lyreacrompane in the parish of Ballymacelligott. When Theresa spoke to Jerry this morning, they were still trapped in their homes; the area was cleared for them later in the day. Jerry also speaks to Cllr Cathal Foley who’s calling for an investigation into what caused the bog slide.
