Thousands of residents in areas of North Kerry have been boiling their water for a week following the detection of cryptosporidium.
Those affected are homes, farms and businesses whose water is supplied by the Ardfert North (Ballyheigue) Public Water Supply and the associated Clanmaurice Public Group Water Supply.
Kate Carmody is an organic farmer, social activist and environmentalist who lives in Beal in North Kerry. She talks to Jerry about the possible causes of the contamination.
