“Ben brings a lot of it on himself.” That was one reaction to an assault on a teenage boy in Tralee. Ben Slimm was 17-years-old when he was attacked. He was assaulted because he was gay. This happened in the noughties, not deep in the last century. Ben, who describes himself as queer, is organising a vigil against homophobia and transphobia which will take place in The Square, Tralee next Monday at 7pm.
