SouthDoc – the out-of-hours GP service – for Cork and Kerry had hoped to recruit a doctor from South Africa to work in the Cahersiveen area. However, his appointment has been delayed. Fianna Fáil councillor Norma Moriarty said she thought the problem lay with issuing a visa but she said this doesn’t appear to be the cause.
