A state of emergency has been declared in two Australian states as bushfires threaten heavily populated areas of the nation's east. At least three people are dead and more than 150 homes have been destroyed following three days of dangerous weather conditions in New South Wales and Queensland. Kilgobnet man Tom Kelliher, who has a construction firm in Port Macquarie, and Richard O'Brien, a retired Irish ambassador to Australia whose mother was from Listowel, spoke to Jerry about the devastation being caused:
