There are concerns over the future of Aughinish Alumina in Askeaton which employs 450 people who are mostly from West Limerick and North Kerry. This is because of key shareholder Oleg Deripaska’s close connections to Putin. The chair of the Russian company, Rusal, which owns the plant has now called for an investigation into the killing of civilians in Bucha.
