Treasa spoke with independent councillor, Jerome Scanlan (Newcastle West Municipal District which includes Abbeyfeale) about the news that approximately 140 jobs in Kostal, Abbeyfeale will be lost. It’s understood the German headquartered company plans to move an on-board charger production line from Abbeyfeale to China in the last quarter of this year. He is calling for Enterprise Minister Peter Burke to establish a task force for West Limerick to deal with job losses at Wyeth in Askeaton, and now Kostal.
