EirGrid – the state-owned electric power transmission operator – has issued two amber alerts within two days. This means there’s limited electricity supply. Meanwhile the UK has signalled that it may have to introduced planned blackouts in the winter. Cllr Michael Foley argues that our energy supply is precarious.
