Over 1 million people in Ireland live with some form of long lasting condition or disability. That’s according to the 2022 census. It’s never been more important that people with disabilities get the recognition in the media that is needed and warranted. Siobhan Brosnan has spoken to new and emerging voices in Irish radio, who’s careers have been facilitated by the journalism, podcasting and radio course in Kerry College in conjunction with Radio Kerry.
