60 Years since Muckross House Opened to the Public – June 14th, 2024

On June 14th, 1964 Muckross House was officially opened to the public. There is a series of events planned, for more: https://www.nationalparks.ie/uncategorised/muckross-60th-celebrations/

Kerry Today was honoured to broadcast from the Billiards Room in Muckross House to mark the special anniversary.

Pat Dawson, regional manager, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Killarney National Park Manager and seconded as General Manager Trustees of Muckross House for 10 years

Dan Kelliher, park superintendent/ regional manager 1963 – 2003

Bernadette Randles, deputy chair of the Trustees of Muckross House, chairing the commercial committee, and also proprietor of the Dromhall Hotel

Patricia O’Hare, research and education officer, Trustees of Muckross House.
