Fiona Ahern from Ballybunion spoke to Jerry about her 12-year struggle to get appropriate housing for her son. 23-year-old Richard has Angelman syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects the nervous system and causes severe physical and learning disabilities. Fiona has asked Kerry County Council if they could be moved or if their house could be made more suitable for Richard’s needs but nothing has happened.
