100 Years of Our National Anthem – July 14th, 2026

Pat McGarty, recently retired lecturer at MTU Kerry, wrote an article in today’s Irish Independent – 100 years ago this month (July 12th) the Executive Council on the Irish Free State officially endorsed Amhrán na bhFiann as the country’s national anthem.
