When recycling the most important thing to remember is to ensure the materials are clean, loose and dry.

The materials that can be recycled are paper and cardboard, all plastic packaging and tins and cans.

As of 2024, new EU legislation means  all households in Ireland are entitled to a brown bin collection service.

The brown bin service can accept all types of food waste, including fruit and vegetable peelings, plate scrapings, raw and cooked meat and fish.

Mywaste.ie is encouraging households to reach out to their current waste collectors to express interest in the service.
