Hi Joe,

Here's my contribution to In Focus with the theme this month being ' A day in September I'll always remember'.

I have sent in a photograph of a painting I did last year. The painting comes from a photograph I took of me surprising my Dad with a mushroom I picked from down our fields. The reason it resonates with me is because the first few weeks in September have always been an exciting time for picking mushrooms, especially as a child growing up on a farm in Kerry. It's comforting to know that as an adult, it's still exciting!

Unfortunately though , we've found no mushrooms this year!

Has anyone else??

Love the show,

To Joe an Dominic.  The picture of the waves breaking was taking in September at Sunset from Ceanndaoithe at the mouth of the Shannon Estuary.  2nd picture was at a time i will never forget.  I was picked up from the beach . I will never forget that experience.  The excitement I felt that day was amazing.  Picture was taken by me as we flew over in a small plane  as I looked down on Carrigafoyle Castle Ballylongford hope ye liked my pictures from Ita Hannon Bèal .

Hi Joe and Dominic

Hello Joe

After four horrible weeks of rain and wind, brightness finally appeared and the sunset on September 19th was an amazing palette of blue and orangy -red. This photo was taken with an iphone at Callinafercy pier with a chorus of lapwings and a solitary curlew in the background.

Hi Dominic,

I’m not sure of the theme for this month but I thought I have to send you this photo.

This spider made his web over the last few weeks.  All the bad rain and wind we got and it is still there, it’s remarkable.  It’s at the corner of my sister-in-law’s house, where there’s a lot of wind. She held up a black tee shirt behind it and I took the photo. My ability as a photographer is very limited as you can see, but it’s in the moment, and we both thought it was very unusual. I love Joe McGills’ show and I love the way you describe the photos. Just brilliant.

Hi Joe
I just had to send in this as it makes me smile. I just got a quick photo of Klopp enjoying one of the warm sunny days in August with sunglasses on his head. It made me smile & anyone I showed it to got a laugh out of it too, hopefully yourself and Dominic will enjoy it.
Best Wishes
