178,500 tonnes of food waste in 2020 came from hotels, B&Bs, pubs, restaurants, cafes, takeaways and canteens. The annual cost of food waste in this sector is estimated to be in excess of €300 million. Lorraine Oman, Chair of the Food Safety Professionals Association has advice for food businesses whether in production facilities or dining, on how they can cut down on waste.
