Ours to Protect- Thriving with Nature Programme
Today on Ours to protect we're speaking to young people who are participating in the Thriving with Nature Programme. This is an Erasmus plus funded knowledge exchange between young people from Caherdaniel and Lillestrom in Norway. The young people are being hosted and guided by the Kerry Community Youth Services, or KCYS. They spent a week in Caherdaniel in August and the Caherdaniel will be spending another week in Lillestrom in February.
Over the two weeks, they will explore different ways of how their environment can compliment their mental health and general well-being. This will include taking part in different workshops including a seaweed walk, rock art in the dark skies park, water sports, and the be well programme which examines the benefits of being outdoors for good mental health. They will also learn about each others cultures - including a trip to Puck.

Thanks to Gareth Harteveld of the KCYS, as well as Helen, Denis, Shruti and Mohammad from Lillestrom in Norway, and Jess, Teddy and Fionnúl from the Caherdaniel branch of the KCYS.
