Irish Water has warned householders in Tralee, that there's a major problem with non-flushable materials being thrown down toilets in the town.
The issue is so accute, that a dedicated jetting van is now permanently based in the Kerry capital to tend to the rising number of blockages.
While throwing unsuitable items down the toilet is a nationwide problem, Tralee seems to be a particular blackspot.
Figures show that more than five percent of all blockages in the country are reported in Kerry - and the vast majority are in Tralee.
Four tonnes of 'ragging' - the term used for debris which clogs up pipes - was removed from the Tralee Waste Water plant during a one-month period recently.
Richard O Headhra from Irish Water says customers in the town don't seem to be getting the message:
Mr O Headhra says a second 'Think before you flush' campaign, will be launched shortly in an effort to re-enforce the message to the people of Kerry.
He says there's also a long-term plan to survey 20 kilometres of sewers and over a thousand manholes in Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and Ballylongford, with a view to putting a Drainage Area Plan in place.
