Valentia Observatory has recorded its wettest summer since 2009.
According to Met Eireann, the south Kerry weather station had the highest amount of rainfall in Ireland with 561 millimetres; that’s 181% of Valentia’s Long-Term Average.

The station also recorded the wettest day of the 2020 summer on July 29th when 54.5 millimetres of rain fell.
There were 19 very wet days and 30 dull days at Valentia Observatory over the three-month period.
