Valentia Observatory records wettest May since 2006

Valentia Observatory has recorded its wettest May since 2006.

Last month, 174 millimetres of rain fell at the South Kerry weather station.

That is 186% of its long-term average and is also the highest rainfall total recorded nationally for the month of May.

22 wet days were recorded at Valentia Observatory during May, along with eight very wet days.

Meanwhile, six dull days were also recorded at Valentia last month.
