Rainfall in Kerry was 17% higher than average between March and May.
That’s according to Met Éireann’s climate statement for Spring 2026.
It shows 374.4mm of rain was recorded at Valentia Observatory during Spring, 17% above its long-term-average.
The county registered the most very wet days at eleven - this is when 10 or more millimetres of rain falls in a day.
Between March and the end of May, five dull days were recorded – a dull day is one with less than half an hour of sunshine.
Meanwhile, the South Kerry weather station recorded the lowest sunshine hours nationally, with 411.8 hours, or an average of 4.48 hours a day.
