Two young boys escaped serious injury in North Kerry when their e-scooter collided with car

Gardaí say two young boys escaped serious injury in North Kerry today after they were involved in a collision with a car while they were driving an e-scooter.

This incident took place in Listowel.

Gardaí say they must have support from parents to prevent these incidents from happening and to help members of the force keep children safe.

E-scooter users must be over 16-years-old and drivers must obey a 20km/h speed limit.

Gardaí say e-scooter drivers must follow the same rules of the road that apply to cyclists.

E-scooter drivers must not drive on footpaths or pedestrianised areas, hold or use a mobile phone, have a seat on their scooter or carry passengers or goods.
