A Tralee man has become the President of Engineers Ireland.

John Power was inaugurated as the professional membership body’s 130th President at its AGM this week.

Engineers Ireland is the statutory and regulatory body for professional engineering in Ireland, and has over 25,000 members.

Mr Power formerly worked for the ESB for 30 years, and has served as both Director General and Vice President of Engineers Ireland.
