Tralee based company JRI America has presented the equivalent of $35,000 dollars in grants to Kerry charities.
The Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Global Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SMBC Americas, celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024 by awarding several grants to charities representing the causes most important to SMBC employees.
At JRIA Tralee, an employee vote selected three local charities to receive grants in the region: Kerry Hospice, Recovery Haven Cancer Support House, and Kerry Mental Health Association.
The grants will be used to improve their services to the community – including providing transportation for people to attend KMHA’s outreach centres, supporting acupuncture services for clients at Recovery Haven, and contributing to a five-bed expansion programme at Kerry Hospice.
JRIA has operated from its Tralee site since 2011 and employs nearly 250 people across a range of IT-related disciplines.
JRIA says it is proud to support local community-based activities, and its staff are encouraged to engage in volunteering when time allows. This has also included beach cleaning, litter-picking and tree planting events which have been undertaken to support local community groups and foster a healthy workplace culture.
