Teenager taken to UHK after being airlifted from Carrauntoohil

A teenager has been airlifted from Carrauntoohil following a fall this afternoon.

The alarm was raised to Valentia Coastguard at around 1.20PM, after a 15-year-old boy fell near O’Shea’s Gully.

The Shannon based Rescue 115 helicopter and Kerry Mountain Rescue team were tasked to the scene.

The teenager was airlifted at around 2.30PM to Kerry Airport and transferred by ambulance to UHK.

It’s understood his injuries are non-life threatening.
