A Kerry TD believes the changes to short-term let restrictions should not be framed as a win for Killarney.

The government proposals were initially set to cover towns with populations above 10,000, which would have included Killarney.

However, it will now only apply to towns with populations of over 20,000, which would include Tralee.

Deputy Pa Daly says he's been contacted by Killarney residents, who say they have no neighbours because of the amount of houses being used by short-term lets.

The Sinn Féin TD says Killarney is being hollowed out, and this is not a win for the town which he claims is being portrayed by other Kerry TDs.
