St Patrick’s Day parades and celebrations underway across Kerry

St Patrick’s Day celebrations are taking place across Kerry today.

The festivities got underway this morning, with the Traditional Dingle Fife & Drum March setting off at 6am.

Parades take place in more than 25 towns and villages in the Kingdom, including in Milltown which sets off around now (10am), and Ballyferriter at 11am.

Lá Féile Phadráig festivities are in full swing in Kerry this morning, with a host of parades taking place countywide throughout the day.

The parades in Castlemaine and Ballyduff kick off at 11.15 and 11.30 this morning respectively.

In Tralee, it’s a midday start from the Rose Hotel, with the parade setting off along Mitchels Road to Boherbee, continuing down Castle Street and finishing on Denny Street.

It’s a 12.15 start for the Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane parade, which departs Glenbeigh/Glencar GAA club; while the Ballinskelligs parade commences after mass, at 12.15.

There’s a 12.30 start for St Patrick’s Day parades in Tarbert – starting at the Bridewell, Duagh – from the Sports Complex, and Mountcollins – from the Community Centre.

In Dingle the main parade also gets underway at half past 12 this afternoon from the relief road.

It’s a 1PM start in Sneem and Listowel, a 1.15 start in Killorglin – from the Fishery, and a half past 1 commencement time in Castleisland – from the Mart yard, and Causeway – from the sports field.

The Killarney parade begins at 2pm on Mission Road, finishing at Beech Road car park, while it’s also a 2 o clock start in Cahersiveen – from Fertha Drive, and Kenmare.

St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Ballybunion, Ballyheigue, Castlegregory and Finuge all commence at 3PM, while it’s a 3.30 start in Ballymacelligott from Clogher Church.

The final parades of the day begin from 4PM, in Abbeyfeale – at Mountmahon Industrial Estate; Kilflynn – from the National School, and in Waterville.
