St. Patrick's Day celebrations are in full swing around the county this afternoon.
Parades are taking place throughout the day, with the Traditional Dingle Fife & Drum March setting off at 6am.
Parades in Castlemaine and Ballyduff are underway, and the Tralee parade is due to kick off now.
It’s a 12.15 start for the Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane parade, while the Ballinskelligs parade commences 12.15.
Speaking just before the Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane parade, Mary B Teahan was confident that the rain would clear before the community celebrations:
There’s a 12.30 start for St Patrick’s Day parades in Tarbert – starting at the Bridewell, Duagh – from the Sports Complex, and Mountcollins – from the Community Centre.
Sandra Maher from the Duagh Develoment Association spoke to us prior to be start of the 9th annual Duagh Parade:
In Dingle the main parade also gets underway at half past 12 this afternoon from the relief road.
It’s a 1PM start in Sneem and Listowel, a 1.15 start in Killorglin, and a half past 1 commencement time in Castleisland and Causeway.
The Killarney parade begins at 2pm on Mission Road,and it’s also a 2 o clock start in Cahersiveen and Kenmare.
St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Ballybunion, Ballyheigue, Castlegregory and Finuge all commence at 3PM, while it’s a 3.30 start in Ballymacelligott from Clogher Church.
The final parades of the day begin from 4PM, in Abbeyfeale, Kilflynn, and in Waterville.
