The sod was turned on the site of a new residential facility in Killorglin for the St John of God Housing Association on Friday.
The house on completion will serve as a permanent home for four people living with intellectual disabilities from the Kerry St. John of God Community Services.
Minister for Children, Disability, Equality and Kerry TD, Norma Foley was present to officially mark the start of the works on the new home.

The purchase of the house and the renovations are being carried out with the support of Kerry County Council and the HSE, with approval from the Department of Housing.
The four residents who are currently living in Saint Mary of the Angels, will move to their own home in Killorglin in early 2026.
