The sod has officially been turned on a new €1.3 million water sports facility in Fenit.
The new facility will include year-round hot showers, changing rooms, and toilets, while secure storage space and equipment washdown areas will also be available.
It will be located where the existing toilets are at the entrance to the beach, beside the playground, and will have full wheelchair access.

The roof of the new building will have solar panels, with an emphasis on accessibility and sustainability.
Breaking ground to mark the start of construction in Fenit, Mayor of the Tralee MD Mikey Sheehy said this will extend the tourism season in the village all-year round.
The €1.3 million project will be developed by Fáilte Ireland in partnership with Kerry County Council, funded under the government’s Project Ireland 2040 strategy.
