A section of road remains closed for forensic investigation following a fatal collision involving one car outside Tralee, on the N21 Tralee bypass.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a male in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision with a tree around 10.20 this morning.
Emergency services attended the scene, including four units from the Tralee Fire Service.
Motorists in Tralee are advised that the road is currently closed on the MTU side of the Ballygarry Roundabout.
The road will remain closed for a number of hours to facilitate a technical examination by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
